47 People Killed in The Battle of Kabul

Interior Minister of Afghanistan, Bismillah Khan Mohammadi, said on Monday that 3 civilians and 8 of the security forces and 36 rebels were killed during a battle that lasted 18 hours in the capital and other cities. The Taliban announced that this group coordinated attacks which started on Sunday, their attack was the beginning of spring.

The interior minister said at a news conference that during these battles and attacks three civilians and eight of the security forces have killed. “40 wounded by the security forces and 25 civilians were killed in the attacks.”The minister added.

Bismillah Khan Mohammadipointed out that 16 rebels have launched attacks in three areas in Kabul. “They have used burqas to enter the city and travelling in the cars. They also had put garlands of flowers on their cars to show they are heading to attend the ceremony.” The minister also said one member was arrested in the eastern city of Jalalabad. He was a member of Haqqani network.

It is noteworthy that the Haqqani network, which is believed to be based in the tribal areas of Pakistan along the Afghan border-based launch attacks against Afghan officials and foreign targets.

Kabul police chief Gen. Ayub Salangi said: “The rebels held 35 civilians hostage near the Afghan parliament in the capital before their rescue. Only one woman suffered minor injuries during the operation.”
