AFC U-16 Championship, Alistair Edwards: Australia is Not Going to Copy Tiki-taka

Australia U-16 head coach Alistair Edwards

Australia U-16 head coach Alistair Edwards said his side is not going to copy Tiki-taka during AFC U-16 Championship tournament.

“We have never said that our players are going to play Tiki-taka, possession-based style is the selected tactic for our players. Actually no one can copy the Tiki-taka of Barcelona FC. We will play base on the current tactic of Australia senior national football team.” Alistair Edwards told Kabir News on the sideline of the pre-tournament press conference.

Australia must compete along Iraq, Oman and Thailand in the group B of 2012 AFC U-16 Championship. Australia will face Thailand tomorrow in Tehran’s Rah Ahan Stadium.

On 2010 AFC U-16 Championship, Joeys reached semifinal but they defeated by host, Uzbekistan.
