AFC U-16 Championship Iran, Kuwait, Iraq and Australia Qualified for Quarter finals

Iran, Kuwait, Iraq and Australia were four teams qualified for the next round of AFC U-16 Championship.

The game between Australia and Iraq kicked off on 13:00 at Shahid Dastgerdi Stadium while two other teams in this group started their game at Rah Ahan Stadium. Neither Iraq nor Australia could score a goal during the match and both of them had completely same conditions. In order to determine the first team in Group B, they started penalty kicks and Iraq defeated Australia with 3-2 result. Oman and Thailand didn’t have any chance for qualifying for the next round but Oman beat Thailand by 3 goals. However Thailand were better and they scored two goals but Oman hit back and won. Puangbut on 18′ and Thongma on 17′ scored for Thailand. Al-Alawi on 40′, Mubarak on 55′ and Al-Rushadi on 72′ scored three goals for Oman.

From Group A, Iran played with Kuwait and Yemen faced with Laos. Like the previous matches Iranians were stunned by conceding the first goal, however they scored two goals later and won the game. In the other match, Laos didn’t have any chance for qualifying for quarter-final but they played their best game against Yemen and defeated them by scoring 2 goals.

Iraq will face with Kuwait in the next round while Iran meets Australia.
