Japan annihilated the Iraqi side by 5 goals to reach the final stage of 2012 AFC U-16 Championship.
The game between Iraq and Japan held at the Rah Ahan Stadium. This match attracted around 500 spectators. Yuki Onishi stunned Iraq by scoring the first goal for Japanese side on 9′. Kitagawa Kohya doubled the lead of Japan on 18′. Yasir Ammar Sami from Iraq scored the only goal for his side on 59′ but Iraqis didn’t have enough power to equalize the match. Watanabe and Wataru Sasaki scored two consecutive goals in 67′ and 68′ for Japan and Kitagawa Kohya completed his brace on 88′
In the other match from the semi-final phase, Uzbekistan defeated Iran. Uzbekistan and Japan will hold the decider match on 6 October 2012 at Tehran’s Shahid Dastgerdi Stadium.
