The holiday season is typically a good one for Amazon as the company puts out huge sales and have just about any goods a buyer could want. Amazon Prime also managed to pick up good numbers with 10 million new customers using the ervice.
With the last week of Christmas being crunch time for most buyers, Amazon Prime’s free two day shipping was the main selling point that drew in a lot of customers. It’s no surprise given that free two day shipping is the feature that is most heavily promoted by the company. If new customers are pleased with that, they’re likely to try out the other parts of Amazon Prime given that they’re paying $99 for the year.
Of course, a portion of 10 million managed to get in on Amazon Prime with the 30 day free trial. Amazon regularly allows for users who have already tested out Prime to try it out again. While free two day shipping comes off as the star of the show, Amazon has said that same day delivery also saw a big bump in usage.
The company plans to make Amazon Prime even more attractive in 2015 and expand Prime Now. Kicking off in Manhattan first, it’s been expected that the service would expand to other large cities.
