September will be a busy month for major tech companies with Microsoft hosting a press event that is expected to announce the new Windows 9 and Apple hosting its event on 9th. The word bouncing around that one of the items to be mentioned is that Apple will be announcing a mobile payment system similar to Paypal and others. The system is likely to be included with the upcoming iPhone 6.
The focus of Apple’s system is to allow the user to pay for items using their iPhone at the counter or in the checkout line. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are already on board with Apple for the payment system. Despite having the big three card companies agreeing to work with them, Apple would still need to make the concept something that most stores would give the thumbs up to.
It’s unknown if Apple will run with a kind of card system like Google Wallet or Paypal or the rumored NFC-Touch ID combination. Knowing how thorough Apple tends to be during unveiling events, the September 9th press event is likely to show the technology of their payment system and how it will work.
