In a surprising movement, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran and a Shia Marja’, has opened an account in Facebook. The U.S. based website is officially blocked in the country but about 6 millions of Iranians have registered accounts in this website.
The inauguration of Ali Khamenei’s page has been reported by “Khamenei.ir” account in Twitter. This news has not yet been confirmed by local media. Kabir News will investigate this case to find the truth of this report. Meanwhile the Iranian oppositions are asking people to report “Khamenei.ir” page in Facebook in order to remove it. The fans of Grand Ayatollah have also criticized opening the account in Facebook because it is blocked in the country and “Khamenei’s lovers” cannot take advantage of his statuses.
Many people have liked and left comments on the page of Leader. Some of them have used bad languages to criticize him while others urge him to unblock Facebook and other social networking websites.
Khamenei.ir, the official website of Ali Khamenei which is available in 13 languages, is an active outlet publishing the latest interviews, oration, pictures and videos of The Leader.
