Classic Star Wars Trilogy Summer Marathon Showings Announced

A special film viewing tour for the original late 70s-early 80s Star Wars trilogy—or the middle episodes of IV through VI—will kick off this summer. Return of the Trilogy will run at some Alamo Drafthouse theaters in 20 major cities between August 6th and August 20th.

The format will see A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi shown back to back. If you’re in one of the cities listed below you’ll be able to pick your tickets on Star Wars Day (May 4th).

August 6th
New York City @ The Town Hall, Washington D.C @ Warner Theatre, Miami, FL @ Olympia Theatre, Kansas City, MO @ The Midland Theater, San Antonio, TX @ Majestic Theatre, San Francisco, CA @ The Warfield, and Los Angeles, CA @ The Theatre at the Ace Hotel

August 7th
New York City @ Kings Theatre and Dallas, TX @ Majestic Theatre

August 11th
Austin, TX @ The Long Center for the Performing Arts

August 12th
Austin, TX @ The Long Center for the Performing Arts

August 13th
Philadelphia, PA @ The Keswick Theatre, Louisville, KY @ Brown Theatre, and Austin, TX @ The Long Center for the Performing Arts

August 20th
Oakland, CA @ Paramount Theatre

August 27th
Boston, MA @ The Boston Opera House

There are two additional stops in Houston and Denver, but those dates and venues will be updated when announced. If you haven’t seen the excellent Star Wars: The Force Awakens, you can view it now on current and last generation consoles, get it in stores, or find it for purchase or rental on your operating system’s app store. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes out December 16th.
