Country singer Carrie Underwood has often been compared with fellow American country star, Taylor Swift. However, recently, Carrie made it clear that she hates being compared to Taylor Swift, or for that matter, any other fellow singer.
The comparison between the two singers came into scene after Carrie was accused of composing music similar to that of Taylor. However, Carrie brushed off such accusations, thereby claiming that their music is totally different and not similar by any means.
These statements came through an exclusive interview of Carrie carried out by BANG Showbiz. In her view, both of them are totally different artists. In fact, there is something about country music that brings out something different from all the country singers. She further added that there is a great age difference as well between them (Carrie being 29 and Taylor being 22), and that is another reason why their music perception can’t be the same. And if anyone makes an attempt to compare them, it would simply imply that they have not listened to our music at all.
Carrie Underwood is one of the “American Idol” winners who tied the knot with ice hockey player Mike Fisher 2 years ago in the month of July. She says that the approach that she has towards music is totally different from that of the ‘Love Story’ singer Taylor Swift.
In addition, Carrie explained that Taylor’s singing is somewhat lighter and there is difference in their country’s brand. Carrie aims to popularize country music and widely spread the new country-pop crossover songs.
Carrie says that it is always exciting to know if somebody likes her and listens to her country music more than that of other artists. People mainly prefer to listen to ‘real country music’ and for her, it is a mission to get more and more people listen to country music by being unique and different from others.
