In less than 24 hours the team behind cPanel & WHM softwares issued three security releases for versions of 11.30, 11.32 and 11.34. All the users are expected to update their products as soon as possible. cPanel has rated this update as having important security impact.
Accordingly these releases address some private security holes in cPanel & WHM. “The resolved security issues were identified by various members of the development and quality assurance teams at cPanel. There is no reason to believe that these vulnerabilities are known to the public. As such, cPanel will only release limited information regarding the vulnerabilities.” The group announced. This Targeted Security Release addresses five vulnerabilities. Additional information is scheduled to be released December 6, 2012.
Earlier today, the company announced they are experiencing “heavier than normal network traffic” which has made several problems for them. cPanel recommended users verifying the version number or re-running the update if they performed the update process between 1pm and 2pm CST.
