Ehsan Hadadi Earned The Silver Medal in Men's Discus

Iran’s Ehsan Hadadi won the silver medal in men’s discus in Olympic Games. Hadadi, who finished third at the 2011 world championships, finished with a throw of 68.18.

Robert Harting of Germany claimed the gold medal and defending champion Gerd Kanter of Estonia took bronze.

Ehsan Hadadi has previously won Gold medal in 2011, 2009, 2007 and 2005 Asian Championships beside 2010 and 2006 Asian Games.

Its noteworthy that Ehsan’s personal best throw is 69.32 meters, achieved on June 3, 2008 in Tallinn, Estonia. This is the current Asian record. After winning 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou and 2011 Asian Championship in Kobe, Haddadi made history by becoming the first Iranian athlete to win a medal at IAAF World Championships in Athletics, he won bronze in 2011 World Championships in Athletics in Daegu.
