Fabio Capello Resigns From England Head Coach Title

The Italian has resigned after falling out with the Football Association over their decision to Chelsea defender John Terry of the Three Lions captain to strip.

The FA has confirmed that Fabio Capello has resigned from his post as England manager with immediate effect.

The Italian, whose reign was brought to an end after Euro 2012, was outraged by the decision of the FA’s to step in and John Terry to remove as captain of the national team, making comments on TV in Italy can be explained displeasure over the move.

Terry was stripped of his captain after it was confirmed that his trial over his alleged racist abuse of QPR Anton Ferdinand was adjourned until after Euro 2012.

And after holding talks with FA chairman David Bernstein and general secretary Alex Horne on Wednesday, the English boss decided to resign.

A statement on the FA’s official website reads: “The Football League can confirm that Fabio Capello has today resigned as England Manager.

“This follows a meeting with FA chairman David Bernstein, FA General Secretary Alex Horne and Fabio Capello at Wembley Stadium.

“The discussions focused on the decision of the FA Board to the England team captain John Terry and Fabio Capello’s reaction by means of an Italian broadcast interview to remove.

“In a meeting for over an hour, Fabio’s resignation is accepted and he will leave the post of England manager with immediate effect.”

Despite the bitter end to time Capello as England manager, Bernstein moved to the former AC Milan and Real Madrid boss to thank for his dedication and professionalism, while at the helm.

He said: “I would like to stress that during the meeting today and the rest of his time as England manager, Fabio has performed in a highly professional manner. We have accepted Fabio’s dismissal, agreeing this is the right decision.

“We want to thank Fabio for his work with the England team and wish him every success in the future.”
