Facebook is a particularly busy company when it comes to make its social network the only stop users need. You have Facebook and Blizzard teaming up to allow the streaming of Blizzard games on the network and a teen-focused social network in Lifestage. Now the Facebook is working with Fandango to serve your movie ticket needs.
The pairing will feature a few recent titles soon to hit theaters or just debuting such as Storks and The Magnificent Seven. Fandango has tested the approach on other platforms and services and is actually looking forward to feature more tickets on Facebook.
A report from The New York Times explains how purchases go down. If you visit a movie’s page—supported by the feature—on Facebook, you will notice a blue “Buy Tickets” button near the top.
On the mobile app once you tap the button you will be given a list of theaters in the area, showtimes for the film, and go on to purchase tickets. Using the desktop version of Facebook will simply forward you to Fandango’s site for the film so if you’re on desktop it’s best to just go through Fandango.
