FIFA Agrees to Insurance Players in All Matches

Joseph Blatter, President of the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) said on Friday that FIFA will begin the introduction of insurance for all players who are involved with their national teams in official matches, Blatter said FIFA’s executive committee decided to put this idea for discussion at the meeting of the General Assembly (Congress) to FIFA in next May and the final decision to start insurance on the players will be made in the beginning of next September.

Blatter said: “We have taken the first steps. It is innovation and the development benefits everyone,” He als0 said FIFA’s executive committee proposed a calendar for the games until 2018 and it will begin consultation with other interested parties such as the Union of European clubs (AKA), which has long exerted pressure on FIFA with respect to insurance of the players as well as a calendar matches.

“Carl Heinz Romenaj head of Eka returned to the table of consultation. We started talks with Eka and all the clubs in order to sign an agreement for the period from 2015 to 2018 on compensation clubs (the injury to players in their participation with teams) and other things,” Blatter mentioned.

This news comes a week after the joint agreement, which took place between the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and Eka on the issue of insurance for the players and the games calendar.
