Founéké Sy, current top scorer of Iran’s pro league, signed a two year contract with Ajman Club, United Arab Emirati football club based in Ajman.
Sy is now playing for Sanat Naft Abadan club in Iran’s pro league. He is the top scorer of league by his 18 goals in 26 appearances. However the Iranian club believes his contract with Ajman Club is illegal.
The spokesman for the Iran’s Sanat Naft confirmed this news and said: “In the last month Sy leaved Iran to UAE to negotiate with a club in Emirates. He has finalized a two year deal with Ajman values $700,000. His job is completely illegal because currently he is a member of Sanat Naft and he has two year contract with us. One more season remaining from his deal with club. We have warned United Arab Emirates Football Association about this illegal contract between Sy and Ajman. Also we wrote a letter to Ajman Club over their illegal act. They must negotiate with Sanat Naft if they are interested in transferring Founéké Sy.”
Sy, Malian footballer, played his entire career in the Malian Première Division before moving to Iran in 2009. He played for Nassaji Mazandaran F.C. and Iranjavan in Azadegan League. After having two good seasons in Iran’s first division league, He joined Pro League team Sanat Naft.
