For the past few weeks we’ve been updating everyone on Samsung’s efforts to deal with the Galaxy Note 7 battery issue in the U.S. Now Samsung is tackling the issue in the UK with the Galaxy Note 7 Exchange Programme.
UK stores and carriers are contacting Galaxy Note 7 owners about replacement devices. Samsung gave the green light for the UK to get a new stock of smartphones and says that the issue was resolved.
New phones have a green battery icon—replacing the white icon—that shows owners that phone isn’t affected by the battery issue. The company has issued both an unofficial and official call for owners to turn their smartphones to get a replacement phone or refund, but it turns out that only 130,000 devices have been turned in.
Unlike owners in the UK, U.S users are looking to getting replacements later in the week. UK owners can contact 0330 726 1000 to take part in the Galaxy Note 7 Exchange Programme.
