Georgia Rejects an Offer From Russia to Resume Their Relations

Georgia has rejected an offer from Russia to resume the mutual relations . Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister said to Radio Echo of Moscow that his country would not resume diplomatic relations with Russia as long as the Russia recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia .

The spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed on Friday his country’s readiness to resume diplomatic relations with Georgia . His comments came after Russia’s decision to allow Georgia citizens to entering Russia without a visa .

Russia has recognized the independence of both South Ossetia and Abkhazia in 2008 after the war that waged against Georgia .
