Google Celebrated The 300th Anniversary of Spain’s National Library

Google celebrated the 300th anniversary of Spain’s national library on 1st of March by showing a logo from front side of library in homepage .

The library was founded by King Philip V of Spain in 1712 as the Palace Public Library (Biblioteca Pública de Palacio) . The Biblioteca Nacional de España (National Library of Spain) is a major public library, the largest in Spain . It is located in Madrid, on the Paseo de Recoletos .

books, journals, newspapers, magazines, sound and music recordings, patents, databases, maps, stamps, prints, drawings and manuscripts are items collected in this giant library . 26,000,000 items including 15,000,000 books and other printed materials, 30,000 manuscripts, 143,000 newspapers and serials, 4,500,000 graphic materials, 510,000 music scores, etc . The library had 115,707 registered readers in 2007 .

Ms. Milagros del Corral Beltran is the director of national library since 2007 with 47,380,860€ annual budget . Library has more than 1025 staff .
