Hussain Ibrahim Saleh al-Shahristani, The Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, anticipated that the oil production of this country will be triple in the next six years in cooperation with foreigner companies.
He said the current volume of oil production is Iraq is 3 million barrels a day and they are going to triple this amount up to 10 million barrels a day by the end of 2018.
“Base on the current conditions in oil markets, Iraq can supply more oil and claim more portion in market. From two years ago we started several projects to increase the daily production and today we can see the results and outcomes.” He reiterated.
Shahristani made these comments at a special briefing after the inaugural meeting of the U.S.-Iraq Joint Coordinating Committee on Energy at the Department of Energy, Washington, DC, on Monday.
