The American singer Lady Gaga has appreciated Prime Minster Dmitry Medvedev for not supporting the recent bill which aims to ban homosexuality in all the provinces and regions of Russia.
According to reports, Russian lawmakers are going to debate and pass a new bill which would forbid the spread of “homosexual propaganda”. The similar law is already existed in some regions of Russia including but not limited to St. Petersburg. But Dmitry Medvedev believes his country doesn’t need any law banning gay propaganda.
Lady Gaga has showed her happiness via Facebook. “Thank You Prime Minister Medvedev for not standing by your party’s anti gay propaganda law & instead supporting my show+fans all over Russia. Prime Minister Medvedev please accept my gratitude I am looking forward to performing in RUSSIA & celebrating our cultures coming together.”
It’s worth noting that Gaga attributes much of her early success as a mainstream artist to her gay fans and is considered a gay icon. She has also criticized the intolerant state of gay rights in many European countries and described homosexuals as “revolutionaries of love”.
