Disable the Raise to Speak option of your iPhone. Siri get activated with the Raise to Speak option but it does use a great deal of power, you can turn it off if you don’t use Siri or just want to save battery life. Jump to Settings – General – Siri and then disable Raise to Speak.
Prevent email from being pushed to your iPhone 5 and check it manually to save battery. Go to Settings – Mail, Contacts, Calendars – Fetch New Data and then set Push to off.
Another life saving battery tip that can help you save your battery life is the brightness settings, go into Settings – Brightness and move the bar over to the left to make the iPhone display dimmer and to the right to make it brighter.
