Just after the devastating quake happened in Varzaqan which left more than 300 hundred people dead, Ahmadinejad offered his condolences to the Sierra Leonean president Ernest Bai Koroma for the passing of his mother. Meanwhile he has yet to pay a visit to the stricken areas or to issue a statement about the recent tremble hit the towns of Ahar, Haris and Varzaqan in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan.
Iranians are very angry of Ahmadinejad’s neglect. Many news websites and agencies even officials and semi officials news agencies have condemned Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over his letter to Sierra Leone President but not paying attention to quake victims in Iran.
