Iranian wrestler, Mehdi Taghavi Kermani, says he is ready to capture gold medal in Olympic Games.
“I have very good conditions and currently I don’t have any injury. I did all the jobs to be a successful wrestler in London 2012. 66kg category is one of the toughest groups in wrestling and all the participants are in same level which hardens my job. As the world’s champion I must compete better than my opponents.” Mehdi Taghavi (25) said.
“Wrestlers from Japan, Azerbaijan, Cuba and Russia are the main competitors in this category for me but I have good insight over them.” Mehdi Taghavi added.
He will compete in men’s 66kg freestyle. Mehdi Taghavi has previously won gold medal in 2009 and 2011 World Wrestling Championships beside 2009 and 2012 Asian Wrestling Championships.
Until now, Iranian athletes have claimed two gold medals in men’s Greco-Roman 55kg and 60kg by Hamid Sourian and Omid Haji Noroozi respectively.
