Several of Microsoft’s VR partners will work on a line of headsets that will work in tandem with Windows 10. Partners onboard with the new VR headsets include Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
All partners have ongoing virtual reality projects and are familiar with the technology, so they won’t be coming in entirely cold when working on their headsets for Windows 10.
The announcement at Microsoft’s press event didn’t mention specifics about the headsets, so we’ll have to find out more as they near launch. What is known is the price: $299 and they will be out next year.
Also coming out with a VR offering for Windows 10 is Alcatel. On its retail site—now taken down—T-Mobile seems to have accidentally put up a page for a new Idol 4S that runs Windows 10 Mobile and is capable of virtual reality.
Prior to the page being taken down the new Alcatel Idol 4S also had the price tag of $299. The phone was originally released during the summer and ran on Android.
