Mohsen Rezaei, the secretary of the Expedience Discernment Council, has criticized the Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s government for its poor performance during its second term. On 2009, Ahmadinejad was reelected for an additional four years where he defeated his reformist and conservative competitors.
Rezaei believes Ahmadinejad’s government had an acceptable performance in first four years but he failed to continue and repeat the previous successes like “other governments in last 30 years”.
“The main opponent of the next government is not a man or political party. It will be the current poverty and international economic sanctions beside Western led plots against Islamic Republic of Iran.” said Mohsen Rezaei, the former military commander of IRGC. “Around 40% of current inflation rate is because of the economic sanctions which target our local economy. The mismanagement of authorities and chaotic conditions in the country escalated the conditions in Iran.”
According to some reports, Mohsen Rezaei might announce his nomination for the next presidential election in Iran scheduled to be held on next Persian year. It’s worth noting that, Mohsen Rezaei raced for the same post on 2009 but he garnered less than 1 million ballots base on official statistics.
