Netflix Introduces Offline Playback

Netflix has finally made it possible for you to download content to view at a later time. With offline playback, you are able to download mostly Netflix original content, but there will also be some popular shows and some films in the mix that you can scoop up for viewing.

Netflix Introduces Offline Playback

As expected the service is for mobile only—because why else would you want to view something offline unless you were on the go or didn’t regularly have access to Wi-Fi while out—and is currently available for Android (4.4.2 or later) and iOS (8.0 or later) devices.

Now this would seem like feature that would be included in the upper reaches of Netflix’s pricing tiers, but actually it’s available to everyone on all payment plans. After you’ve downloaded your episodes, you’ll be able to find them in the “My Downloads” section. Once you’ve finished watching your downloaded content, you’ll delete it from the same section by going to “Edit” and delete.
