NIOC Head Ahmad Qalebani : Price for Oil Will Jump to $150 per Barrel

Ahmad Qalebani has predicted that the price of oil barrel will hike to $150 due to Iran’s plan to put sanctions on oil exports to some Eeuropean countries .

He also asked European countries should go with long term oil contract with Iran . “We will export oil to these countries only after signing long term contracts.” he told reporters in Tehran on Monday .

He also said , Oil exports sanctions will be applied on Spain, the Netherlands, Greece, Germany, Italy and Portugal if they don’t stop their bellicose attitudes toward the Islamic Republic .

Iranian Oil Ministry spokesperson Ali Reza Nikzad-Rahbar announced on Sunday that crude exports to British and French companies have been halted .

Tajik , director of the department of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Western Europe , met separately with the ambassadors of Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Netherlands and France on 15 February, in which a number of issues, including the oil embargo, were discussed.

“We have made efforts to inform the European population from the fact that European governments are responsible for the consequences of the decision,” Tajik said at the time .
