Pakistani Doctors Remove Extra Limbs of Six Legged Baby

Pakistani doctors removed the extra 4 limbs of the six legged baby born in a successful operation on Thursday.

Karachi’s National Institute of Child Health (NICH) managed and organized the operation which lasted for 2 hours. The medical team includes 5 doctors. NICH Director Jamal Raza said the baby now is on stable condition. He pointed out the baby is one of parasitic twins and due to some internal problems he was born incompletely developed giving the impression that the child has extra legs.

Jamal Raza announced the baby needs more surgeries to remove the other double elements from his body such as the intestine and bladder. The next operation will be started in the next 24 hours.

The extra legs were the result of rarest of the rare genetic disease, which affects once in more than a million babies. “The doctors are examining the infant to plan for necessary treatment to save the baby’s life and ensure he lives a normal life,” a statement from the provincial Health Department said.
