Pakistan’s Air Force Produces New Tablet Called PACPAD

Beside developing new missles , advanced radar systems and making fighter jets , Pakistan’s Air Force is produsing new tablet named PACPAD . Pakistan military produces this tablet in partnership with Chinese hardware companies .

The price of this tablet powered by Android 2.3 is only $200 , it’s less than half the price of Apple or Samsung devices and cheaper than other low-end Chinese tablets on the market, with the bonus of a local, one-year guarantee .

The device features a 1GHz ARM 11 processor, 256MB of RAM, and comes with either 2, 4, 8, or 16GB of storage. It has a 7” Capacitive TFT display with a resolution of 1080 x 720.

It’s being sold in only limited numbers in Pakistan and after receiving feedbacks Pakistan’s Military will produce more of these cheap tablets .

A lot of people and companies inside Pakistan criticized this action by Pakistan’s Air Force . “I just can’t figure it out,” Jehan Ara, head of Pakistan’s Software Houses Association, said . “Even if they could sell a billion units, I can’t see the point. The air force is supposed to be protecting the air space and borders of the country.”

Some Pakistani citizens believe PAC is going to install spyware applications on these tablets to have more control of people activities in digital world .
