A reformist political activist believes Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, Hodjatoleslam Ali Akbar Nateq-Nouri and Former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami (three most famous and popular Iranian reformists) can help the country to pass the current economic and political crisis created by wrong policies of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s government.
“In fact conservatives prefer to hold an unfair election. They want to pretend their victory against reformist parties.” Ahmad Shirzad, former MP, said.
A few days ago Ahmadinejad said his government will “continue” their job even after the upcoming election. Reformists believe the conservative party, currently led by Ahmadinejad, will hold an unjust election to defeat the rival party. Ahmad Shirzad also commented on this subject by saying: “I think it was not an accidental comment by Ahmadinejad and definitely it has strong base. They may use some facilities to achieve their intentions.”
Shirzad thinks Ahmadinejad’s party will not win the upcoming presidential election. “Ahmadinejad’s government had a poor performance during the recent seven years and it had a shaky interaction with Iran’s Majlis and judicial system. Winning an election in Iran is depending on support from other groups such as military, Mullahs and etc. But Ahmadinejad doesn’t have these supports in his hands.”
