Samsung Is Planning A Special Galaxy S7 Edge For The 2016 Olympics

With the 2016 Summer Olympics a little over a month away, there is some discussion that Samsung could be releasing a special Rio 2016 version of the Galaxy S7 Edge. It seems that scuttlebutt from originated on SamMobile months ago could be true as leaked images of the special edition were leaked via Evan Blass on Twitter.

The decal on the back of the handset and the opening screen isn’t the only things that will make this a special edition of the Galaxy S7 Edge as there could be Olympics-specific apps.

It would make sense for Samsung to add something extra given that nothing else special was mentioned as coming with the handset in the same fashion as the Injustice anniversary Galaxy S7 Edge. Plus given that this is phone that is being made for the specific occasion of a special event that only comes around every four years, it would be nice to have something exceptional for a device that would be upgraded months down the line.

Expect official word from Samsung sometime next month on the road to Rio 2016.
