Texting while driving is an issue that has led to death, injury, and property damage. As a result, some cities in the U.S. have made it illegal. There are also public service announcement campaigns that run with the frequency of drunk driving PSAs for texting and driving.

In-Traffic Reply works by using a device’s GPS sensor which tracks when you are in motion. If it relies on travel speed to determine that you’re in or on a vehicle is unknown, but your phone will send a message of “I’m driving, so I cannot answer at the moment.” The phone will also send an animation showing the same but users can also set up a custom message.

At the moment, the app is only available in the Netherlands and is in the beta stage. Currently, there are automated response apps on the Google Play Store, but requires users to set everything up as far as times and the like. In-Traffic Reply is expected out next month.
