Samsung Is Beta Testing Social Network Waffle

Samsung is dipping its toe into social media with Waffle. Introduced as a content sharing platform, Waffle lets users share images and other users draw or comment on those images.

The network gets its name from its user interface—which is in the form of a grid. Most search engines use a similar layout for the “Images” part of the site and a social network such as Tumblr uses the layout when searching for images by keyword.

There are already social networks based around image sharing, but it appears Samsung believes Waffle offers something new. Creative Leader Joseph Kim said “Waffle enable users to add their own perspective to someone else’s content, and vice versa. These doodles, images and messages converge into entirely new content.”

You can try out Waffle’s beta version on Android.
