The Death of Kuwaiti Goalkeeper Samir Said

Samir Said, the former goalkeeper of Kuwait national team, died today morning after injuries sustained in result of a serious car accident he had two days ago in one of the streets of the Kuwait.

He was walking in a street and car hit him. Then he was taken immediately to the nearest hospital via ambulance since he was in serious condition. Doctors couldn’t save his life and he died at the age of 51 years.

He was one of the best goalkeepers in the history of Kuwait. Samir Said had helped Kuwait to win several titles including a championship in Gulf Cup 1990. He won the title of the best goalkeeper in that tournament. Also in 1984 the placed in the third place of the Asian Cup.

He was born in 1963. Said was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Al-Arabi Club for three consecutive sessions and he is very popular in the country.
