The former president of Islamic Republic of Iran and current Expediency Council Chairman Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani criticized the mismanagement of Iranian government over its reactions to economy difficulties. As the U.S. led sanctions against Iran has devastated the local economy, low class people are struggling to live in these conditions.
“Labors are one of the most vulnerable people in Iran. When I was young, I felt the difficulties of this type of people. Iranian labors had a notable role in Islamic revolution (took place on 1979).” Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani outlined during a meeting with labors’ representatives.
“At the current time their revenue cannot pay their expenses and most of labors are badly suffering from this situation. Politicians and experts must bravely accept mismanagements and try hard to address them. Western countries were always implementing hostile policies against Iran but we must do our best to defend our rights.” Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani added.
Reformists have suggested Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani to become nominee for upcoming presidential election scheduled to be held on next Persian year. Rafsanjani has yet to confirm or refuse the requests.
