Amir Ghalenoei, the Iranian football manager who had won IPL for four times, set for Esteghlal post.
After holding intensive sessions between the members of board of directors, Amir Ghalenoei appointed as the new head coach of Esteghlal. However Esteghlal’s directors decided to announce the name of the new head coach officially on Wednesday earlier, but reliable sources said all the members are compromised on Ghalenoei.
Ghalenoei has been the most successful coach in Iran Pro League and managed several clubs, including Esteghlal, Mes Kerman, Sepahan and Tractor Sazi, with 2 of which he won a total of 4 championships and 2 Hazfi Cups. He was also the head coach of Iran national football team from August 2006 to July 2007. He has won three titles with Tehran based club. In 2005–06 he won Iran Pro League with Esteghlal and in 2002 and 2008 he claimed the title of Hazfi Cup with this club.
After the recent loss of Esteghlal against Sepahan FC during AFC Champions League, Parviz Mazloomi lost its popularity between Esteghlal’s fans. And it resulted the later decision by club’s officials. The 2 year contract between Esteghlal and Mazloomi expired in this season and Mazloomi was eager to extend his contract.
