Microsoft’s Xbox team is looking to make it so that you can purchase and play your games across any platform: Xbox One, PC, and now mobile. The game stream service was announced during the pre-show days of this week’s E3 conference. Phil Spencer, the head of gaming at Microsoft discussed the service during the press conference.

“Our cloud engineers are building a game streaming network to unlock console-quality gaming on any device. We are dedicated to perfecting your experience everywhere you want to play–your Xbox, your PC, and your phone.”
While Spencer also stated that a next-generation Xbox was in development, this stream-everywhere direction looks interesting as it could develop to the point of a console being unnecessary–as is the direction EA seems to be taking with its own service.
