Klaus Toppmöller, the former coach of Bayer Leverkusen, is now close to Iran’s Teraktorsazi club position.
Toppmöller was previously linked to Persepolis in 2009, but because of unrests in Iran over presidential election he refused to take the position of Iran’s giant club. Amir Ghalenoei recently left Teraktorsazi to join Tehran based club Esteghlal.
Now Klaus Toppmöller is the main option of Teraktorsazi’s officials for the post.
Klaus Toppmöller (born August 12, 1951) used to play for FC Kaiserslautern in his senior career. He has also managed Eintracht Frankfurt, VfL Bochum, Bayer Leverkusen, Hamburger SV and Georgia national team. Mehdi Mahdavikia, the Iranian football legendary, was under the tutelage of Toppmöller in Bochum. Under the management of this German, Mehdi became one of the most important player in Bundesliga and joined Hamburger. Toppmöller was also the manager of Mahdavikia in Hamburger.
Bayer Leverkusen reached to Champions League final in 2002 by the management of Toppmöller.
Teraktorsazi is one of the most popular football clubs in Iran. This team will participate in the next AFC Champions League tournament.
