Omid Haji Noroozi (26) won the gold medal of men’s 60kg Greco-Roman by defeating Revaz Lashkhi (24) from Georgia.
This is the second gold medal of Iran’s national team after Sourian’s gold medal in men’s 55kg Greco-Roman.
Before facing with Georgian wrestler, Omid Haji Noroozi beat Ryutaro Matsumoto from Japan, Almat Kebispayev from Kazakhstan, Ivo Serafimov Angelov from Bulgaria and Jiang Sheng from People’s Republic of China. Also Russian Zaur Kuramagomedov claimed the Bronze medal in this competition.
Haji Noroozi plays in Takthi Wrestling Club in Shiraz city of Iran under the tutelage of Mohamed Ali Chamiani.
