MetroPCS—which has recently been acquired by T-Mobile—is set to start using T-Mobile’s network and GSM phones. Kicking things off for this move are LG Optimus L9 and the Galaxy S III mini clone, the Galaxy Exhibit. Both phones will not have LTE, but will make use of AWS-capable UMTS/HSPA+ radios.

No prices have been announced for the duo, but MetroPCS will start selling plans on T-Mobile network around June 12. Also kicking off MetroPCS integrating into T-Mobile is the BYOP—Bring Your Own Phone—service where customers can bring their GSM phones…granted it isn’t a BlackBerry. Details on BYOP aren’t particularly clear, but should be cleared up in the coming days.
