In what is no surprise to anyone, Samsung will give every athlete of the 2016 Olympics a special Galaxy S7 Edge. Athletes will also get Gear IconX headphones.
It’s more of a commemorative edition smartphone and doesn’t offer anything major or extra of note. The Olympic rings and Rio 2016 logo and themes are shown throughout the UI of the smartphone. There will be a Rio 2016 app on the phone that comes with the Games’ results, medal count, schedule and related information about venues. For those without the special edition S7 Edge, you can get the app on iOS or Android.
For those stateside who want the Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Games Limited Edition it will be available on July 18th at Best Buy stores—as a limited released. Elsewhere the phone can be picked up in China, Germany, and South Korea. While Samsung hasn’t mentioned a price, it can be expected that it will be more since it’s a commemorative phone.
