Isfahani based football club, Sepahan, won Iran’s pro league called Persian Gulf games in 2011-12 season for the third consecutive years.
Sepahan FC placed first with 67 points in the table of the league after ending 34th weeks. Tractor Sazi Tabriz claimed the second position by 66 points while Esteghlal placed third with the same scores.
Sepahan was the winner of Iran’s league in 2002–03, 2009–10 and 2010–11. This championship was their fourth title in the recent ten years.
Zlatko Kranjcar, the current manager of Sepahan, had a great performance in this season for the club. He joined the team in mid season window when Luka Bonačić left Sepahan.
By achieving this cup, Sepahan became the most successful team in Iran Pro League.
Also Karim Ansarifard playing for Saipa FC became the top scorer of this league by scoring 21 goals.
