The First Internet Cafe For Women Opened in Afghanistan

Afghanistan opened the first Internet cafe for women only on Thursday in order to give women the opportunity to communicate with the world without being subjected to verbal or physical harassment and to avoid unwanted looks of men .

Young women poured into the small cafe located in one of the quiet street in Kabul . “We want to protect women from the fear and find a safe place for women to use the Internet.” The student Alimeh Moradi (25 years), a member of the group (change for young women, which set up the cafe said .

The walls of the cafe are painted in bright colors with pictures of birds and a symbol of social networking site (Facebook) and (Yahoo) .

Women are still confronted with the enormous conflicts even though the overthrow of the Taliban for more than ten years .

Afghan girls participated International Women’s Day by opening this cafe .
