There is a new feature for listening to audio within tweets. Working in tandem with Soundcloud, Twitter have come up with a card that will allow users to enjoy Soundcloud’s library of tunes.
Twitter To Sue The U.S. Government Over Transparency Concerns
The cards work by docking it inside Twitter’s official iOS and Android apps. This will allow for users to actively listen to tunes uninterrupted while going through their timeline.
This new card works much differently from the long time tried and true method of embedding audio into a tweet or simply putting a link. On top of that, the cards work as a kind of mini-audio player complete with album art, artist info, and album info.
As The Verge has pointed out, one great point to Twitter’s audio cards is that with Twitter being the preferred vehicle for for celebrities of all kinds, it will be good for up-and-coming artists to promote their music.
Itunes is also working with Twitter on the audio cards and as expected Twitter will be looking for more partners.
