Base on reports, the United Arab Emirates has summoned Iran’s ambassador to Abu Dhabi to denounce a visit by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to a disputed island in the Persian Gulf on Monday.
Anwar Qarqash, The UAE’s minister of state for foreign affairs, announced this news by saying: “We have summoned the Iranian ambassador and gave him a letter of protest and denouncing the recent visit of Ahmadinejad to Abu Musa.” Qarqash called the visit a “violation of UAE sovereignty.”
