Ezzatollah Zarghami, the head of IRIB, announced Universal Pictures complained to a local court of Iran in the United States. This is the first time that an American pictures company files dispute against Iranian government.
“During the unrests happened in 1388 (after Iranian presidential election held in 2009 and caused riots because of the unwanted result) Universal Pictures notified us from their complaint. They claimed that we have broadcasted a film (produced by Universal Pictures) in order to calm down the riots in streets and keep the people inside their houses.” Ezzatollah Zarghami said in a conference.
Zarghami didn’t reveal any more details on this subject. “The Lord of the Rings was the disputed movie.” He added. Universal Pictures believes Iranian government had used The Lord of the Rings for political intentions.
However the mentioned film was distributed by New Line Cinema company, but Zarghami referred to Universal Pictures.
Its noteworthy that Iranian government usually doesn’t buy the copyright of the European and American films which they broadcast publicly in Iran.
Lord of the Rings was a Zionist conspiracy!
