Yahoo has been bolstering its properties this year with the major purchase of Tumblr in May for $1.1 billion and earlier this week the company brought the mobile video company Ptch, a Los Angeles-based startup. Now you can add concert-streaming company Evntlive to the fold.
According to their blog, the Sunnyvale-based tech giant plans to use Evntlive to give Yahoo a foothold in live entertainment by providing fans with live streaming events and basically allowing Evntlive to function as is.
The Redwood-based company got its roots in 2012 with beta kicking off just this year. Evntlive allowed for users to chat during live streams of concerts and had different camera angles of the action. Streams were viewable on PC, tablets, and smartphones.
Evntlive announced that the service would be shuttered and as a separate entity and become a part of the Yahoo Video family.
